Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often from adults in Buffalo, NY and Western New York. If your question is not covered here, contact our office and we will be glad to help.

General

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. Thrive Well NP in Adult Health PLLC is accepting new adult patients. New patients may request an appointment through the website or contact the office for assistance with scheduling.

What ages do you see?

Thrive Well provides care for adults age 18 and older.

Can I be seen by telehealth?

Many appointments can be completed by telehealth when clinically appropriate. Whether telehealth is appropriate depends on the reason for your visit, your medical needs, and whether an in-person examination or testing is necessary.

How do I know if I need an in-person appointment instead of telehealth?

Some symptoms and medical conditions require a physical examination, vital signs, testing, or other in-person evaluation. After reviewing the reason for your visit, Thrive Well will determine whether telehealth is appropriate or an in-person appointment is needed.

Primary Care

Can Thrive Well be my primary care provider?

Yes. Thrive Well provides adult primary care, including preventive care, routine follow-up, management of chronic medical conditions, medication management, and coordination of specialty care when needed.

Can I be seen for a sick visit even if Thrive Well is not my primary care provider?

Yes. Established patients may request appointments for appropriate acute concerns. New patients should contact the office so we can determine the appropriate type of appointment.

Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and Buprenorphine

How do I know if medication treatment for opioid use disorder is right for me?

Treatment is individualized. Your first appointment includes a review of your opioid use, medical history, current medications, symptoms, previous treatment, and treatment goals. If medication for opioid use disorder is clinically appropriate, available treatment options will be discussed with you.

Do I have to come into the office for every MOUD appointment?

Not necessarily. Some follow-up visits may be completed by telehealth when clinically appropriate and permitted under applicable requirements. In-person visits, laboratory testing, or drug screening may be required as part of your treatment plan.

Weight Management

Does everyone who comes for weight management receive a GLP-1 medication?

No. Weight-management treatment is individualized. Your medical history, current medications, weight history, previous weight-loss efforts, laboratory results, contraindications, and treatment goals are reviewed before recommendations are made. Medication may be recommended when clinically appropriate.

Aesthetics

How do I know how many units of Xeomin I will need?

The number of units varies by treatment area, muscle strength, anatomy, and desired result. Your treatment plan and recommended number of units are determined during your consultation before treatment.
